Trilobe preselected at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève 2020

Trilobe is proud to announce, for the second consecutive year, its preselection for the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG 2020) in the category “Petite Aiguille”.

« Hands less but with a sprinkle of magic »

The « Petite Aiguille » category is restricted to watches whose public price lies between 4’000CHF and 10’000CHF. The nomination in this category is a wink to Trilobe’s motto : “Hands less but with a sprinkle of magic”

« My soul has its secret, my watch has its story »

The preselected Trilobe watch is the watch “Les Matinaux Secret”, an emblematic model of the brand officially launched  in October 2019. This latest edition of “Les Matinaux” collection is an invitation to immortalize a precious moment in a poetic way. Each dial is personalized and made bespoke: a map of the sky with the stars from the day, time and place that are dear to you, thus, making each watch a unique piece. The starry sky is a freeze frame for a selected point in life: a delicate way of entrusting its receiver with a powerful message of love, a happy memory, a life project, an open secret, for an intimate creation.

At nightfall, the drawn stars come to life and light in order to illuminate the chosen moment, thus suspending the passage of time. A new invitation to free oneself from time.

This watch with a starry sky was the initial project of Gautier Massonneau, Trilobe’s founder. Facing such technical complexities, this project was developed in parallel with “Les Matinaux” collection. It took more than two years of R&D to implement the 3D growth of superluminova for the dial, a first in the watchmaking world, and to reach the result with a personalized watch in an intimate and poetic way.

Each Secret watch is developed with our new automatic integrated movement, the X-Centric calibre. Mirror of the brand identity, this calibre enhances the architectural geometry of this piece : a contemporary distinction with a refined design.

This year, the 84 watches nominated by the GPHG 2020 jury will participate in a travelling exhibition on the Swiss territory:

  • Chaux-de-Fonds at the International Watchmaking Museum (MIH), on 14-18 October
  • Zürich at Bucherer, on 20-22 October
  • Bern, at Bellevue hotel, on 23-25 October
  • Geneva, from 30th October to 15th November

In Geneva, the watch will take up residence in the palatine rooms of the city’s largest museum, the Museum of Art and History (MAH), where for the past three years the GPHG has been organizing a multi-faceted exhibition dedicated to the art and culture of watchmaking.

These exhibitions will be an opportunity for Trilobe to meet collectors and an audience of fine watchmaking enthusiasts.

The final winners will be announced on November 12 at the awards ceremony of this 20th Grand Prix d’Horlogerie.
