Conceived, designed, developed, prototyped, machined, decorated and assembled in-house, the X-Nihilo is Trilobe’s first Manufacture movement. It powers all the models in the Trente-Deux collection.
Its bold architecture is organised around an island, which frees up space and highlights a magnificent, isolated balance wheel. It offers a 42-hour power reserve, combining technical excellence with singular aesthetics.
CONTRASTED FINISHES
Every detail is designed to enhance the contrasts of the movement: fine or coarse hand-grained finishes on the bridges and mainplates, black polish on the screws and bushes for a subtle finish. The screws and jewels are highlighted by a concave, diamond-polished rim. On the surface, the bridges are hand-satin-finished, while the rhodium-plated gears feature circular satin-finishing, in harmony with their rotation. The oscillating weight combines sunburst and graining motifs to emphasise both its structure and lightness. A true hallmark, these plays of textures interact with the 5N gold coating, whose warmth and patina will evolve over time.

THE INTRODUCTION OF THE OSCILLATING WEIGHT
The openworked tungsten oscillating weight reveals the balance wheel supported by a bridge inspired by traditional watchmaking codes. The custom-designed balance wheel rim is equipped with four chronometric adjustment screws allowing for fine-tuning, thus ensuring regularity and stability over time. The result of a unique design, the weight is accompanied by a system of safety pins, guaranteeing the protection of the movement against major shocks and preserving the integrity of the bridges and internal components.

AN ENGRAVING “PARIS – FRANCE”
Through the sapphire case back, the movement appears to be suspended: the entirely exposed and mirror-polished inner diameter of the case reflects the movement and creates a spectacular depth effect. The “Paris – France” engraving, visible on the movement bridge, uses typography inspired by old Parisian street signs.
